brand & web design
Design is where strategy becomes visible. Every decision about how a brand looks, how a website is structured, how a document is laid out is communicating something to the person on the receiving end. The question is whether it is communicating the right thing, in the right way, to the right people.
At Saint Associates, design and brand strategy are not separate disciplines. The design work begins with an understanding of the positioning, the audience, and what the brand needs to achieve. Everything that follows is in service of that.
What design at Saint includes
Design at Saint covers three areas. Web design is where we build the digital face of the brand: websites and digital experiences designed for the people using them, not just for how they look in a browser. UX design is the thinking behind that work, ensuring that the structure, flow, and behaviour of a digital product makes sense to the people it is designed for. Print and collateral is where the brand extends into the physical world: brochures, presentations, packaging, and the printed materials that represent the business in every client interaction.
All three are parts of the same discipline, applied across different surfaces. A brand that looks sharp on screen but falls apart on print, or that has a beautiful website and a confusing user journey, has a design problem. We approach all three as a system.
Some of the work we have done
Make it Scotland needed a design system capable of representing the best of Scotland's craft food and drink sector. The visual identity Saint developed had to work across digital, print, and environmental applications, carrying a message of provenance and quality without tipping into tartan cliche. The design system built for the brand was deliberate at every scale.
For Exclusively Koi, Saint designed the visual identity and then built the website that brought it to life. A premium identity that lands on a weak website is a promise the brand cannot keep. Every design decision, from the radial logo mark to the layout and typography of the site, pointed in the same direction.
For Mural Crown, the design work extended from the visual identity through to the printed materials and communications the firm uses with clients. A wealth management brand that communicates carefully in every client interaction needed that same quality of attention across every surface the brand appears on.
FAQs
Graphic design is the craft of creating visual assets. Brand design is the strategic application of that craft to build a coherent and consistent identity. When businesses look for a graphic design agency, they are often looking for something more than asset production. At Saint, graphic design services are grounded in brand strategy from the outset, which means every visual decision has a clear rationale behind it.
Both. Some clients come to us with a brand already in place and need design work done to the same standard. Others need the brand and design work done in sequence, which is the approach we recommend. If you have existing brand guidelines, we work within them. If you do not, we talk about whether that is something worth addressing first.
Yes. Web design is one of three design services at Saint, alongside UX design and print and collateral. Many of our projects involve brand identity and web design done together, because the two need to be consistent. A website briefed in isolation from the brand work tends to need revisiting.
Saint handles design and development under the same roof. Web design projects move from design into development without the brief being handed across to a separate agency. That continuity matters for quality, timeline, and the final result.
